Full Moon Surprise #65

Ніч яка місячна
This is my rendition of a Ukrainian folk song, also known as 'The Night Is So Moonlit'

All proceeds from the initial downloads of this track went to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal to help them continue to respond to existing and emerging humanitarian needs. We raised £150. Thank you!

lyrics

LYRICS:
Bright is the night with the stars in the moonlit sky
Spreading their light you can see
I know you’re tired but come out to this grove and please
Stay for a minute with me

We will be sitting down under the arrow-wood
Your love is all that I crave
Look how the mist over there in the distant field
Flows like a silvery wave

Rays of the moonlight reflect in the pond so bright
So like a diamond it shines
Leaves on the aspen tree trembling so tenderly
Sending us magical signs

Don’t be afraid that your feet will get wet with dew
While we stay out here to roam
I will embrace you and take you into my arms
Carry you back to your home

You won’t get cold as it’s warm and the sky is clear
I know the wind won’t get higher
I will be holding you close to me all the time
Warmed by my heart that’s on fire

about

Thomas Truax London, UK

"Thomas Truax crafts rich, poetically evocative songs about insects, trees, technology, and a lifelong obsession with all things lunar. He travels the world performing with his "band" of bizarre self-made instruments including a motorized drum machine made with bike wheels and a souped-up Gramophone called 'The Hornicator', as well as his venerable guitar 'Hank'.
